The Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light lit up the dark streets of Athens, GA in the the first of five events in the US Speed Week series. Kyle Wamsley was out in front for over two-thirds of the event,  participating in every significant breakaway of the night. Teammates Luca Damiani, Gustavo Artacho, and Anibal Borrajo lined up at the front of the field with five laps to go to set up sprinter Sebastian Haedo for victory.  Despite a mishap with the rider next to him on the last corner,  Haedo managed to cross the line in second. In the women's race, Tiffany Cromwell of the Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team landed herself in another successful breakaway and sprinted into fifth, followed by Tina Pic who stole the field sprint for 7th.
