Colavita/Sutter Home Trio Named to
2008 Olympics Long Team and Talent Pool
USA Cycling announced that five-time U.S. National Champion Tina Pic earned an automatic nomination to the Long Team of athletes eligible to represent the United States at the 2008 Olympic Games in women’s road cycling. Pic’s Colavita/Sutter Home teammate Alison Powers received one of two discretionary nominations, reflecting her strong performance in 2007 which included a gold medal in the time trial at the Pan American Championships, a third-place finish at the Memorial Davide Fardelli Time Trial in Italy, and a seventh-place overall finish at Le Grand Tour du Montreal.
Colavita/Sutter Home cyclist Dotsie Bausch was named to the final Talent Pool roster for the women’s endurance squad in the discipline of track cycling, following the third round of the 2007-08 UCI Track World Cup Classics circuit in Los Angeles in mid January. A relative newcomer to the discipline, Bausch took the gold medal in her track debut in the women’s individual pursuit at the USA Elite National Track Championships in the fall of 2007.
Congratulations Tina, Allison, and Dotsie!
